Imagine, you moved away from a place where you left everything over. Now, you moved back with all the stuffs that you bought in the past 2 years. It’s like combining 2 homes into 1. What I need to do is, unpack one carton box, take out all the things, and put all the old rubbish back to the same box in order to spare up the space. Repeat the above step until all boxes are filled up again.
People said, if you haven’t touched something for 2 years, that means you don’t need that anymore. (that doesn’t apply to your wife, I guess) I tend to agree. I used to keep a lot of stuff in order to keep the old memories. Especially books and travel diaries and something I thought memoriable. Now I have thrown them all away.
Memories do not worth much to me at this moment.
And when we get old, we won’t need to keep so many stuffs too. Everything is now digital. Something I have written is in the computer. All the photoes. Even all songs are in itune. I don’t even need to keep those old CDs. I can find the information from internet, so I don’t need to keep all those books. If it vanishes, let it be.
Hey, what is left? Clothes, and shoes, and all sorts of unidentified cables…
