love cleverly

Saturday, November 26th, 2005

A good friend of mine is having an unhappy relationship.  She said, sadly, that she thinks she is very silly to love someone who hurts her heart again and again.

I don’t know if there is anything known as clever in a relationship.

Perhaps:

- clever is you choose someone who loves you more than you love him / her;

- clever is you can keep one-eye-open and one-eye-close when you find out that your other half is dishonest to you;

- clever is you know how to use little tactics to keep his / her heart;

- clever is you can use "strategies" to win over your "enemies";

- clever is you can change a dandy into a family man…

I don’t have an answer.  Because I am not a clever woman.

Starbucks My favourite gingerbread latte is back!  Unfortunately Starbucks is getting further and further away from me.

如果有一天

Friday, November 11th, 2005

If I haven’t shared this with you before……

Repeat # @

如果有一天 戰爭與飢荒 充斥全個地球

別害怕 你心我心 手與手 連成一線為你可分憂 好朋友

fortune telling

Tuesday, November 8th, 2005

Alchemist I talked about fung shui the other day.  Although I have a few fung shui stuff at home (no tortoise!), I have no idea what these things are for.  However, I do go to fortune teller (things like 八字 or 紫微斗數) occassionally.

We always want to know our future, even though we might not be able to change it.  I have just read the following from a book call "The Alchemist":

"Then, one day, the oldest seers he had ever sought out had asked why the camel drive was so interested in the future.

"Well… so I can do things," he had responded.  "And so I can change those things that I don’t want to happend."

"But then they wouldn’t be part of your future," the seer had said.

"Well, maybe I just want to know the future so I can prepare myself for what’s coming."

"If good things are coming, they will be a pleasant surprise," said the seer.  "If bad things are, and you know in advance, you will suffer greatly before they even occur."

We all live in the present, not in the future.  Quite right, isn’t it?

fung shui

Although I sometimes look like a witch (not a bitch), I am not particularly superstitious.

A friend wanted to date a girl.  In every aspect he thinks he has a good chance.  On an important date, the girl told my friend that they are only good friends, and will always be.  My friend was sad.

After a few days, my friend told me that he use to have a "tortoise" under his bed, for the purpose of attracting females (招桃花).   His mother turned it up side down when she did the cleaning.

He thought that was the reason.  The girl called him again after he returned the tortoise to the original position…

Another friend is going to buy a new car.  He was happy after doing some calculations.  He said, "hey, this car number is very good for me.  I will be really lucky then."

I don’t know how a tortoise or a car number would change our lives.  But if I am really depressed, it’s no harm doing something silly, perhaps.
