sugar

First time been there.

Heard about Hei Hei - and just learnt that Sugar is another popular one.

I am not a clubbing person and in fact haven’t been to this kind of places for a long time.  Quite curious what makes these places so popular (may clubbers please tell me…).   Thought of a few factors:

- some people like the music - think that the DJ is good and famous.

- some people like dancing - not sure if the dance floor is good?

- some people like to see and being seen - the waiters are good, the guests… um.. I mean, they have a dress code.  A friend of mine was almost rejected because his jeans were torne.  Another friend was warned becuase she wore sandals.  Lots of ABCs - and lots of ma-luck-lo who want to meet pretty ladies.  Yet you can’t just walk in.  You got to be (or to be with) a member and you need reservation… the guests are supposed to be high-quality.

- some people like the decoration - a few TVs on the wall.  Besides… it was too dark too see.

- some people like it coz it’s expensive!

Perhaps I would still prefer a quiet cozy wine bar.

    My Friend,

I was in Hei Hei last Tuesday. It’s not much la. I used to be a 100% devoted clubber 8 years back. I still go these places occasionally mainly for special occasion like bday party of my friends etc.

Well, you have named all the potential reason for that. However, I guess the priority would be see & be seen, dancing and drinking.

For guys, 90% of them are trying to pick up girls or just to get some eyes candies.

For girls, I guess 50% of them are trying to be picked up by rich and famous guys. 20% are just trying to social and build network. Another 20% for fun. The rest may just there to check out the place.

Wine bar is good, but there isn’t any good wine bar in town though. The so-called wine bar in HK either charges very high for some fair wine or they don’t have a good atmosphere. Let me know if there is one. Otherwise, I prefer to drink at home.
